Transformational Giving

What moves you to give your money to a charitable cause? A dinnertime phone call? A heart-wrenching TV ad? A child selling chocolate bars? Are you more likely to support a cause if you get a good or service in return?

As a self-supporting ministry, we give fundraising a lot of thought at MMR. Will everyone leave the giving to someone else who they think is “better off” and has more to give? Will our mailings get shoved around on a kitchen counter, or thrown away?

In the past few months, we have learned from a unique organization called Missions Increase. They promote a fresh, exciting idea called “transformational giving.” It’s a model we hope to adapt to in the coming months. The idea is that when donors support us financially, it’s a two-way street: the programs have money to continue, but also donors grow in their walk with Christ through connecting with MMR.

Look at it this way: you can send us a donation check and we can send you a receipt, but is that where it should end? The concepts of risk-taking and sacrifice are pivotal in the ethos of MMR; how can we develop that among our donors? How can we encourage you, challenge you, and pray for you? How can we educate you and your church or small group about Least Reached Missions and the Persecuted Church?

We are all on this Christian walk together, and we want to connect more closely with the individuals who support us. Please, join with us – not just to support MMR with your money, but to devote your prayers, time, and effort to the cause of Least Reached Missions. We love to hear stories of how God is moving in your life!
